David Reid served as a Judge and Commissioner for the State of Illinois Court of Claims for over fifteen years.  During this period he developed and represented clients in hundreds of cases.  Previously, Mr. Reid successfully represented the Office of Chief Counsel, Internal Revenue Service, and participated in many reported Tax Court cases.  Mr. Reid has been in private practice since 1992.  During this time, he has represented clients with estate planning, probate, and tax issues. 

 

Recently, Attorney Reid, The Illinois Farm Bureau, and Erdman Dairy, Inc. won an Illinois use tax exemption for silage bags and resulting dairy products.  Mr. Reid has also served as President of the Sangamon County Lincoln-Douglas Inn of Court and represented several local nonprofit entities and groups.  David Reid has earned the following advanced degrees:  an MPA from UIS, Springfield, Il, a J.D. degree from the University of Miami, Coral Gables, Fl an M.B.A. degree from Florida International University, Miami Fl. and a LLM Taxation from Emory University, Atlanta, Ga.

While in Miami for eight years, Mr. Reid was employed by Miami Dade County as an Office and Management Budget Analyst and a Law Clerk with the County Attorney's Office at the Aviation Department at Miami International Airport.  In Atlanta Georgia, Mr. Reid was a Senior Attorney with the Office of Chief Counsel, IRS, and attended Law School for his Master of Laws in Taxation at Emory University.  He has achieved an "AV" (the highest rating) with Martindale-Hubbell.  Mr. Reid is admitted to the Illinois, Florida, and Georgia Bar Associations.  He has achieved an "AV" rating (the highest rating in both legal and ethics) and a Leading Lawyer member.
